Built In 1902

This railroad bridge is west of Bavaria, KS, on Old Highway 40. A metal sign on the bridge seems to indicate it was built in 1902. While doing photos of it I looked off into the trees to the south and noticed the remains of a bridge older than this one. Old Highway 40, and many of the towns and businesses along it, pretty much died when I-70 was completed.
Comments:
Good eye! It reminds me a little of a photo I once took of a grain elevator. You could see it perfectly in the reflection of a mud puddle. So, here's this elevator with blue sky behind it, but surrounding it is sand. You have to look at it for a minute to catch on.

I'd like to see that one some time if you still have it.
